This footage was shot today just outside my office in Chinatown. You can clearly see the officer talking on a cell phone in the street, totally ignoring his surroundings, and arguably making the situation more dangerous by almost walking into a vehicle.



This is just another example of how police insistence that they be assigned details instead of far cheaper "flaggers" is just scare tactics. Deval Patrick is right. These guys should be taken off these double-time assignments ASAP. Stop exploiting tax payers and get back to serving and protecting!

Meanwhile, I can't get a cop to call me back about investigating my bike getting totalled by a truck while it was locked up on THE SAME CORNER, despite my telling them where the security cameras in the area are.
